NWS Forecast Accuracy
Accuracy grade pending, and it stays that way on purpose. We show the raw NWS forecast for Revelstoke Mountain Resort and do not grade or correct it. Six winters of NWS-against-SNOTEL checking found forecast accuracy here turns on an unresolved snow-measurement question (settled snow depth vs. fresh snowfall), not a fixed per-mountain bias anyone can honestly correct. So we show the number NWS publishes and tell you that is what it is.

Local Knowledge
TGR Community IntelStorm Day Strategy
During significant storms, focus on upper mountain terrain (Stoke and above). Lower mountain terrain becomes icecoasters with exposed rocks and stumps. New snow typically skis better above Revelation line. Monitor gondola operations on cold mornings—expect 9:45-10:00 AM opening. Expect avalanche closures on South Bowl/Subpeak during powder mornings; stick to inbounds groomed terrain and established runs. In weak snowpack years, stay inbounds to avoid backcountry hazards. Post-storm conditions can have cold temperatures (-20°C alpine) that delay lift operations.
Terrain Opening Patterns
Upper Gondola (Stoke and above)
Opens: 9:45-10:00 AM
On cold mornings (-20°C alpine), gondola may not run until sun hits the haul rope. Loading typically begins around 10:00 AM once operational.
Lower mountain (below Revelation)
Opens: Variable
Lower half of mountain (halfway between Revelation and Stoke bottom) often has poor coverage with stumps, rocks, and exposed terrain.
Powder Stashes
Upper Stoke terrain
Above Stoke base area, summit elevation terrain
Primary focus area for powder skiing; consistently skied out on good snow days.
Tree terrain (specific locations unknown)
Throughout backcountry and inbounds trees
Expert skiers seek out filled-in tree runs; some locals keep favorite lines secret. Avoid cliff terrain in bowls.
