Terms of Service

By creating an account or using StormDrop (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. The Service is operated by Catalyst Supply Co LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), 1311 Park St, Ste 517, Alameda, CA 94501. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

StormDrop is a ski storm forecasting and resort intelligence platform. We track incoming snowstorms at ski resorts across the US and Canada and provide storm scores, road condition estimates, and trip-planning information to help subscribers decide when and where to ski.

Weather data is sourced from the National Weather Service (NWS), SNOTEL ground stations, and state DOT feeds. Forecast models and storm scores are our own derivation — not official government forecasts.

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial of StormDrop. No credit card is required to start. At the end of the trial, access to premium features is restricted until you subscribe. We reserve the right to modify trial terms at any time.

StormDrop is available for $500 per year, billed annually via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each year on the anniversary of your purchase date. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on file for each renewal.

Subscription management (upgrades, cancellation, payment method updates) is handled through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from your account settings.

All prices are in USD. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before changing the subscription price, effective at your next renewal.

You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal or by emailing support@catalystsupply.co. Cancellation stops future charges. Your access continues through the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for unused subscription time, except where required by applicable law.

StormDrop forecasts are informational only and are not safety guidance. Weather is inherently unpredictable. Our storm scores and snowfall estimates are derived from NWS forecasts and historical SNOTEL calibration — they are useful tools, but they can and will be wrong.

You assume all risk for travel and skiing decisions you make based on information from StormDrop. We are not liable for travel expenses, lodging costs, lift tickets, rental cars, or any other costs incurred as a result of a forecast that did not materialize as expected.

Do not use StormDrop as your sole information source for trip planning. Always verify conditions through resort hotlines, official avalanche forecasts, and state DOT road conditions before traveling.

Road closure predictions and access estimates in StormDrop are probabilistic estimates only. They are not official road condition reports. Always check your state's DOT website and resort access road hotlines before driving in winter conditions. Delays, closures, and chain control requirements can change rapidly.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute StormDrop data or content
• Reverse-engineer our forecast models, scoring algorithms, or source code
• Share your account credentials or provide access to unauthorized users
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice or refund.

All content, data, code, design, and storm scoring methodology are owned by Catalyst Supply Co LLC or licensed to us. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or any conduct we determine to be harmful to the Service or other users. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR ACCURATE AT ANY TIME.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CATALYST SUPPLY CO LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, TRAVEL COSTS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ANY FORECAST. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Alameda County, California.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the site at least 7 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
