NWS Forecast Accuracy
Accuracy grade pending, and it stays that way on purpose. We show the raw NWS forecast for Sun Peaks Resort and do not grade or correct it. Six winters of NWS-against-SNOTEL checking found forecast accuracy here turns on an unresolved snow-measurement question (settled snow depth vs. fresh snowfall), not a fixed per-mountain bias anyone can honestly correct. So we show the number NWS publishes and tell you that is what it is.

Local Knowledge
TGR Community IntelStorm Day Strategy
After fresh snow: arrive Sundance line 8:00-8:15 AM for 8:30 opening; secure one decent run and possibly one more before Tod opens; skip groomed runs under chair and Granny Greene's; instead head right off lift down green briefly then seek 'Marginal Conditions' sign toward peekaboo area for untracked powder. Late morning, visit lower Munro Ridge, Expo, Roller Coaster for additional powder. Expect Saturday to be extremely busy with rapid powder deterioration despite manageable lift lines. Tuesday conditions ideal as groomers work overnight snow.
