Six winters of NWS-against-SNOTEL checking found forecast accuracy here turns on an unresolved snow-measurement question (settled snow depth vs. fresh snowfall), not a fixed per-mountain bias anyone can honestly correct. So we show the number NWS publishes and tell you that is what it is.

TGR Community IntelStorm Day Strategy
On powder days with significant snow (19cm+), arrive by 7:30am as lots fill before 7:50am. Expect extreme Whistler Gondola lines; use Excalibur instead with minimal wait. Alpine terrain opens late (8:55am or later) so plan accordingly. Be prepared for mechanical lift issues and diesel backup operations on Glacier/7th. Light snow reports (7cm) can be sleeper days skiing significantly better than reported due to wind-loading on right aspects. Avoid Village Gondola in favor of Fitz chair. Monitor wind conditions as they close high alpine terrain. Have backup plans (skinning, lower elevation terrain) if lifts experience extended downtime.
