Six winters of NWS-against-SNOTEL checking found forecast accuracy here turns on an unresolved snow-measurement question (settled snow depth vs. fresh snowfall), not a fixed per-mountain bias anyone can honestly correct. So we show the number NWS publishes and tell you that is what it is.

Monitor wind direction - gondola closes at slightest breeze. Prioritize Sky & Canyon (California) and Comet & Dipper (Nevada) lifts for real-time status. If upper mountain lifts on California side close due to wind, shift to Nevada side (Boulder/Stagecoach). If all upper lifts close, Nevada side lower terrain provides best skiing. Less snow expected at Heavenly compared to North Lake resorts during typical storm cycles.
