Six winters of NWS-against-SNOTEL checking found forecast accuracy here turns on an unresolved snow-measurement question (settled snow depth vs. fresh snowfall), not a fixed per-mountain bias anyone can honestly correct. So we show the number NWS publishes and tell you that is what it is.

Spring storms are highly localized and difficult to forecast. When dumping at Snowmass (16"+), neighboring resorts may receive significantly less (1-2"). Monitor real-time reports; when Snowmass receives more snow than adjacent peaks, it experiences dramatically lower crowds. Spring corn skiing begins around 11 AM at 10K elevation. Snow can transition from rain at lower elevations (4 PM) to heavy snow at upper elevations by evening. Stick around through storm cycles as conditions improve with frontal passages.
