How StormDrop Verifies the Season
We cross-reference NWS snowfall forecasts against SNOTEL ground-truth sensors at each resort. Six winters of that verification (~3,760 storm pairings across 10 resorts) found every forecast sits between the two honest ways of reading SNOTEL — slightly high against settled snow depth, low against fresh snowfall — so which direction you'd call it depends on an unresolved measurement question, not the resort. No resort currently earns a published direction; every resort shows as pending.
We don't publish a number we can't stand behind.
Get real-time storm alerts, canyon-closure timing, and local knowledge for every mountain.
