Six winters of NWS-against-SNOTEL checking found forecast accuracy here turns on an unresolved snow-measurement question (settled snow depth vs. fresh snowfall), not a fixed per-mountain bias anyone can honestly correct. So we show the number NWS publishes and tell you that is what it is.

TGR Community IntelStorm Day Strategy
Arrive very early (8:30 AM or earlier) on powder days to catch first/second chair and tram access before lines form. Visibility frequently poor in upper 1/4 of mountain during storms (whiteout conditions), but lower terrain and Grizzly area provide good turning despite poor sight. No Name terrain often opens untouched mid-morning after patrol control work. Expect dense, heavy snow that requires significant effort on lower mountain terrain by day's end. Storm days see lighter crowds than expected despite being Ikon resort.

Ogden Canyon
RestrictedRoad: Dry | Notices (check timing): !!TRAFFIC ALERT!! November 2, 2026 - April 2027 | 24/7 Day and Night Beginning as early as Monday, November 2, and continuing through April 2027, one lane will be closed on SR-39 in the upper Ogden Canyon. Motorists can expect one-way alternating traffic 24/7, with flaggers during the day and a mobile traffic signal at night. Delays of 5-10 minutes are expected during peak travel times. Please allow extra travel time and slow down near the work zone. Ogden City contractors are replacing the water pipeline on SR-39. This effort is part of the Ogden Canyon 36 inch Water Transmission Pipeline Replacement Project. Traffic Alerts: SR-134 will be closed between SR-39 and 1400 South to all through-traffic for approximately two months to accommodate this work. Resident access will be maintained. Work will typically take place 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and night work may take place as needed. Detour to 1800 South, 1400 South, or 1250 South to 3500 West.
